Description

Project Future Malaysia: 10 Malaysian creatives reimagine an equitable, fair and sustainable Malaysia

About this event

When we think of Malaysia in the future, what possibilities do we imagine? How might a hopeful vision for what lies ahead look? And, what needs to happen to get us there? This is the question we posed to 10 Malaysian creatives, on reimagining alternative futures for our country.

Project Future Malaysia features new literary and visual works across a range of genres and themes, by Malaysian creatives: Sharmilla Ganesan, Gema, Jaymee Goh, Ackash Kumar, Max Loh, Shamrizan, Kumerainthira Sivam; David C. E. Tneh, Yan Jing Tian and Wong Xiu Wei.

The project was created with the support of the Chevening Alumni Fund and the British High Commission Kuala Lumpur.

We invite you to join us for an afternoon of art, creativity and conversation, where these creatives will share their process of creating these works. Let’s imagine pathways to a bolder, more hopeful Malaysia together.

At the end of the event, we invite you to continue the conversation over a nasi ulam meal and drinks. Why nasi ulam? There’s a thematic reason, we’ll tell you on the day!
